Welcome!

“To be a good improviser one must have acquired not only a sure and supple technique but a knowledge of harmony, counterpoint and fugue, and familiarity with plainsong, composition and orchestration.” – Marcel Dupré

Here I propose to provide some of the tools necessary to help organists begin to study and work towards mastering the art of improvisation. Examples will be posted as well as exercises and themes to practice.

Currently the site is under construction, so information is sparse. Please check back again soon to discover more goodies as they are added. Please feel free to make suggestions of content to add in the comment area below, or send an email to organist[at]organimprovisation.com
