Thomas Tallis provided the tune now known as TALLIS’ CANON for Matthew Parker’s Psalter published around 1561 as a setting of Psalm 67. Thomas Ravenscroft published a version of the tune without repeats in his Whole Book of Psalmes which is the version of the tune most often used today.
